Spirit of '76 League
I've been working on a 1976 OOTP6 league, in the model of the great "Born in '69" and "1987 and Beyond" leagues. So far I've got the the rosters, minor league teams, managers, logos, schedule, and stadiums done and am working on an installer package. I used Ankit's career data base, Frohike's old stadiums, and Tiger Fan's 24-team 162-game schedule for the time period, and the league sure looks good to me.
1976 was baseball's 100th anniversary, our country's 200th, the last year of 24 teams, and was just before free agency hit, so I thought it was the best of the seventies years for which to do a league. Look for it as soon at the usual places just as I put together a package that installs the league and the stadiums all at once.

I think it's going up without the stadiums; I can't get the package with stadiums down to anything smaller than 25 MB otherwise.

Frohike's set was originally done for OOTP3, but it works if you play with it. I keep hoping that one of the stadium gurus will update it and repackage it for OOTP6.

awesome league file ..i am very impress...great job
just curious how did you come up with the league totals? why this time very hard and heavly favor prospect instead of hard and favor prospect liek your texas league? and why 10% for the hitter development speed and for pitcher development speed? why in team transaction it shows players on the 40 man roster if its disabled and why are there players showing there on waivers if waivers is disabled too . anyway to make a seperate download available for the stadium file, so they will match what the teams are in 1976... thanks Last edited by jbmagic; 09-13-2004 at 01:23 AM. |

MD -
This may be a little late, but you may want to check out djpeg, which is what I used with my all-in-one installer. Most installer creators will allow you to specify a file to run after install...you can just point the installer at djpeg and tell it to go... Packaging jpg files with my installer cut the file size down from 83mb to 24mb. Just so you know... |

I'd officially like to file a protest against Malleus Dei and all of you league creators!!
![]() I barely have enough time to keep my own league going at a decent pace. Now, you guys keep coming up with all of these all-in-one packages that I need to get my grubby hands on. Now I've got 6 different solo leagues installed, and I'm considering joining an online league. Cripes! I shudder to think of how much of my total HD space OOTP is currently taking up! PS: GREAT work guys.

I say this every so often but here I am saying it again:
IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE LEAGUE SETTINGS, THEN CHANGE THEM!

i love your league setting..there awesome....
i ask because gives me idea if i do a regular solo league for my league setting..and learning the reason behind your setting..i learn alot that way .. again i love your new league file and love that texas league file too...glad i found that crash bug for you on your texas league... i found out the reason why there players showing up on the 40 man roster and players showing on waivers...even if you have those disabled on your new league file.. the reason is when you run computer manager on all teams with waivers and 40 man roster enabled it will do that... the way to fix this is be sure to have 40 man roster off and waivers off, then run computer manager on all teams or place the 25 man roster the way you want per team and remove all the players off the 40 man roster and waiver box... thanks |

This assumes that I ran the computer manager at all...unless my wife's cat has been on the keyboard again, it was never run. But, given that the Texas League 1.6 on my computer runs fine on my computer but that the zipped versions crash, go figure. I think I am going to quit the mod business. It's bad luck. Guys, is this problem significant enough to warrant another version? Bear in mind that finances are off anyway because it's 1976.

its up to you...the 1976 is awesome... but it does look weird to see players on the 40 man roster and players showing on the waiver box... i guess we can all just drag all the players off every team on the 40 man roster and remove all the players off the waiver box in the team transaction.... but then i think it will show up on player history report that he was remove..etc... |
