Game crash after contraction

I am working on starting my new on line league. We are using OOTP 6.3 with the CBL 2.1 roster set. We contracted the Expos and Brewers. After the contraction draft, trades and all the other transactions, we were ready for our first sim. At least we thought. The first sim day, all games finished and the game froze advancing to the next day. I can't get past that point. I even did a whole new league file starting from scratch thinking maybe the file became corrupt. I reinstalled OOTP. I set all teams to cpu and ran computer manager thinking maybe it was a roster problem. No matter what I do, I can not get by day one. Anyone have any ideas or similar problems.

Thank you in advance
Randy

Did you generate a new sked after contraction?

More than likely one of the following is the problem:

-The same position is listed twice in the lineup.
-The same player is listed twice in the lineup.
-One position is missing.
-An "injured" pitcher is scheduled to start a game.

Check this for ALL the teams in the league.

Thanks again for responding Steve. I did check all that stuff and I wasn't able to find anything like that. I adjusted all the rosters myself, and then also did an auto fill for depth chart, lineups, and pitching staff. Neither doing it myself or auto could solve the problem

How was the new schedule generated, manually or with the scheduling system in the game?

I did not try adjusting the league totals I will give that a try. As far as the schedules, first I tried using the Stickware Utility which I used before for 6 and never had a problem. I also tried using the in game schedule generator.

Thanks guys for your help

If it froze up I'm 95% sure it is the issue I posted about check to see if a player OR position is listed twice in a lineup.

Whats happening now is that I get an error saying OOTP6.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. Thats all it says. It is no longer freezing up like it was before.

Sorry to keep asking questions about this problem, however there is a new twist to it.

If I put the league back to 30 teams it works without a problem. With 28 teams it keeps crashing on me. I did a schedule reset after every time I changed the size. I just don't know what could cause this to happen. Any ideas anyone.

I had the same issue you are having, and mine also only occured with a custom league size. At the default of 30 teams, it worked fine, but when I did something different than 30, the first day would sim, then it would freeze up.

However, my issue was somehow related to altering the league totals, and more specifically, the BABIP value. If I didn't touch that, it ran fine. If I changed the BABIP from default, it crapped out. Erego my question about league totals.

Thanks for your response. I hadn't touched the league totals until after I was having the problem. Thanks again Randy
