help i cant get the game to work. recently downloaded it. cant get anything to work.

k i just recently downloaded the game, I went to the screen were it asks u for ur credit card number. I did all that recieved my email containing my order id. I then went to launch to finally play the game. then two error messages came up. I cant get to anything. i need help badly. I never got to license the game, so i tried redownloading the file. and no such luck.

first error.
createsurface:backbuffer
out of video memory

second
initapp
error initdirectdraw

both of those pop up and then nothing. i have no idea what to do and really need some help. anyone have any ideas.

I would upgrade your DirectX drivers at : http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en


Then I would try running the game again. We also need more information about your computer. We know nothing of your specific setup, and the more information we have about your system the better we can help.

for the first error, how much video memory does your comp/card have?

for the second, ditto TC Dale's suggestion. upgrade your drivers.

Go into the “game”(OOTP, ITP, etc) folder and open the "game config" file, toggle the 3d setting, close those things and try the game again.

If that doesn't solve it, go to start then run and type dxdiag and hit enter. The direct X utility will open and it will let you know what version of direct X you are have installed. If it is less than v9 go to http://www.microsoft.com download and install v9, reboot your computer and then try the game again.

One of these two things should get things going. Please let me know if you are still having problems after trying both of these.
