Depth Charts Clarification
Hi Everyone,
Just wondering if anyone can clarify the depth chart percentage. Is this percentage used as part of a tracking starts forumla, or is it the odds of a playing starting a game? For example, in the first case, let us say that we are 100 games into a season; if I pick up a free agent and set his playing time to 25%, will he start the next 25 games (tracking starts)?? Or, as in the 2nd case, will he merely have a 25% chance of starting each game from that point forward? Thanks, Mike |

He won't start the next 25 games in a row, I know that. It's either a 25% chance of starting or starting once every four games. I haven't checked box scores to find out which.

The % represents the % of games that the player will start. 25% means the player will start one out of every 4 games. Of course, pitcher handedness and backing up multiple positions will complicate things beyond that simple formula.
