*UPDATED* THE 1987 League File for OOTP6 is Ready! *6-6-04*
I have recently completed THE 1987 League File for OOTP6. The first version of it can be downloaded at:
http://www.simleaguecentral.com/modu...q=getit&lid=45 Please feel free to send me your feedback so I can improve the file. I am currently adding a bunch of Player Bios which will be the main item I am working on for the next update but I will also add any suggestions that I am sent. View the README file that is attached for information on what was edited and my suggestions for using the file. The League File is just over 900kb so it does not take long to download. Enjoy! very awesome....
one note on the readme u recommend to use Soxman Stadiums, but they dont work on ootp 6...they dont lineup correctly..even when u do ootp 6 coortinate converter.. also on Soxman Stadiums download . they have park dat files there ... do you recommend to use it too? if so use the regular park dat or the revised park dat file there where all park factors set to 100.. thanks Last edited by jbmagic; 05-10-2004 at 01:08 PM. |

The final version of my 1987 League File is now available at: http://www.simleaguecentral.com/modu...q=getit&lid=45 and will also be available on JoeRock's website in the near future. I have doubled the number of Player Bios and completely overhauled the player ratings thanks to some further research and great user feedback!
~For THE 1987 baseball experience give my file a try~ Enjoy! |

hey.. just want to make sure.. for drfts and stuff they will be fictional players not players as they entered right? Is ankits or anything out so I can start like an 86 season and get real players into the league as I go? I havn't seen anything, but I havn't looked that closely either..

No my 1987 League File includes the actual rosters and when you import the rookies they will be real players. Lets keep focused on historical baseball here.

I'm actually going to make a online league with this file. But what I'm going to do is sim out the league till 2003 with this league file and the AnkitDB so the league will have a very unique history from real life but will have players that everyone knows.

A new version of my 1987 League File is now available. This new version includes the actual 1987 schedule with the doubleheaders rescheduled to individual games since OOTP doesn't handle that well. A big thanks to Le Grande Orange who provided the schedule.
The download link has not changed and is at the top of this post or in my sig line. I hope to make the file available soon at Joe Rock's site for those who have trouble downloading from simcentral. |

Just wanted to check and see if anyone who has downloaded my 1987 file has seen any great performances?
So far the best thing I have seen is Vince Coleman stealing 133 games in one season and Tony Gwynn hit .407 for the season. However, the next season Coleman "dropped down" to 90 steals and Gwynn "only" hit .345 for the year! I also had someone email me saying that 41 year old Nolan Ryan won the Cy Young and another person said that 38 year old Mike Schmidt won the MVP so I guess OOTP6 is much better with how older players perform! |

Bob Boone has lingered around for a coupe of seasons in my current league but never gets any offensive numbers to speak of. Gotta love this game!

Ok everyone the latest update of the 1987 League File we all know and love is available at http://www.simleaguecentral.com/modu...q=getit&lid=45 and should be available very soon at JoeRock's Download Center.
I have completely overhauled the financial section to produce even better results than before. There are several teams that will even lose money at the end of the season which I liked and which provides a nice challenge for you if you want to take on a team like the Brewers, etc. I have also edited about 80% of the players based on User Feedback and my own observations. The editing was minor but the results were very good and I think you will notice the improvement. The League Totals Section has been updated using Henry's numbers and a link has been included in the README file so you can get new league totals each season. Of course the schedule is the actual 1987 schedule thanks to Le Grande Orange's hard work. I have also added some more player bios and I think there are almost 190 of them included in the game now. Thanks to everyone who emailed me feedback and I think all of you will find your suggestions have been used. I hope everyone is enjoying this file and I will be starting work on my 1994 OOTP6 League File in the very near future. I think 1994 is a great year for a League File because it is the first season of the 3 division format so stay tuned for more details. Enjoy! Doc |

I used your rosters and I really think they're great. I just had a few problems:
1. After I simmed the 1987 season and went to the next, the year said 1989 and there were no stats or anything for 1988. It's like it was completely skipped. 2. It seems like my players contracts are about to be up, but then when I start the new season, they're magically signed for the next year. I signed a few guys to huge extensions, then went to the next season and the guys they were to replace were still on my roster. I haven't had one free agent in two simmed offseasons. I'm not sure if these problems are attributed to your rosters, but if you could help me out I'd appreciate it. |

I am not sure what to say about these problems because I have not heard of them before. It seems as though somehow an entire season was lost in a matter of moments. I would suggest starting over and see if it happens again. Maybe it was some kind of OOTP bug because I have never heard of this happening before. I am currently using this roster set and I am in the middle of the 1990 season without any problems.
Hope you get this worked out or it was just a one time problem! |

Just bumping this up a few pages since I had a couple of people asking me about downloading it.
Hope everyone is enjoying this file! I also hope to have it up on Joe Rock's website but I do not believe he has started on the Rosters Section yet. |
