DH Intermittantly not being used - OOTP5

For some reason in an online league the DH was turned off on its own. Now, even though it has been turned back on, the DH is only used in some games. There appears to be no pattern. It can happen to any AL team or game. For example, on one day 3 of 7 AL games, the DH was used. the next day, 4 of 6; the next all, etc.

It is not my version of the game as I had someone else try it as well with the same results. It is not due to an imported or edited schedule as I have used the OOTP created schedule. It is not due to interleague games as they were not used. These are AL vs. AL teams.

The league is on hold until we find the answer.

Thank you.

I personally have not seen this but I don't use v5 except to export for online leagues. I have posted a link to this thread on the beta board asking for any other sightings, etc of this.

Was there any expansion done recently or any teams moved from one league to another?

No expansion or moving of teams at all. The only thing that changed was a couple of stadium adjustments which wouldn't have any effect.

I have since gone back to the final league file of the previous season and manually entered all the off-season signings and redid ST and the same exact thing occured. Some games DH's are used and some games they are not. It's never the same teams or pitchers, although both teams in a game are equal, meaning they both either use the DH or not.

At what exact point does the DH turn itself off?

I'm just speaking here because I was the one who Ran asked to try it with the same league file and I find the whole thing fascinating. I thought he was nuts until I tried his league file.

In the sims I ran there was no specific point it happened. The boxscore showed the pitchers being used, or the DH being used, but never a combination of the two in the same game.

In the NL games I checked it was always pitcher only.

I'm not sure if that was your question or not, but my answer is how I interpreted it.

Is there a place where we can d/l this file? Probably something Markus needs to take a look at I'd say.

I was going to provide you the link, but I realized that if you cannot log on to the site you cannot access the league file.

I messed more last night and this morning and am trying once again. I ran two tests on the same league file. The first worked, the second did not. The difference - team exports. The second used them.

So I've posted another Opening Day league file for them to try and will run a sim tomorrow to see if it works. If not, I'll post a couple of versions for Markus to look at.

Thanks.

Could it be a situation where some folks exported their league files while the DH was set to off, then others exported them after you found the problem?

Just thinking outside the box for you guys.

Is possible. And at this point I'll take thinking from inside, outside, or in North Dakota.

Thanks.

I think this is the case here.... some people have DH turned on - others off... not everyone in the league is set to the same variable...
