question on the effect of arbitration

So, I'm about to start my first off-season with Salary Arbitration in place, and I'm hoping for some advice about what to expect. What worries me, of course, is that there's already ten or so teams in the league that are in financial trouble each year, and suddenly players that have been costing $100,000 each will be costing from $500,000 to $5,000,000. Are all these teams going to take a bath next year, financially, or does the game adjust - for example - the income formulas to let them continue to compete?

You can get arbitration estimates by going to Front Office > Players Salaries. The HTML report that pops up will give an estimate of what the player will get next year. The game takes these future salaries into account when telling you how much money you have available to sign free agents during the preceeding season.

The game will not adjust the financial formulas. Teams will though adjust their pay structures. So teams strapped for cash will trade expensive stars for prospects and whatnot.
