Taking his game to a new level!

I think it's new with the 6.03 patch... in the player development report, I've seen players with reports such as...

John Smith has taken his game to a new level!

What exactly does this mean? Is there a measureable talent and/or rating increase for the player, much like increasing contact actually increases the contact talent? Is it a statement that suggests the players ratings will spike very soon? Does it mean he has phenomenal statistics for his ratings?

I haven't specifically researched it thoroughly enough in the game, but I also haven't been able to find any significant change in talents and/or ratings after seeing this comment in the player development report. Any insight would be highly appreciated!

That means that the player got an actual ratings boost... usually players do develop slowly and in small steps... if you see this message, then the player has taken several steps at once at several categories, for example contact from 28 to 39, power from 40 to 47 etc. This does not effect talent ratings.

That is a nice, new addition to the Player Development section, Markus. Thanks!

I saw this twice. Both with Brandon Inge. Turned him into an All-Star in 2007.

Sweet, thanks for the response, Markus. I had an inkling it might have been just that, but I've only seen it twice so far and both times were with less than mediocre players so it was difficult to gauge what exactly the improvements were.
