what do "good/bad pitching sessions" do?

pitchers can have good or bad pitching sessions during spring training, but i'm not sure what this affects. it explicitly says if control, velocity, pure stuff, movement, or endurance are improved or lost. so i don't konw what that leaves left to change. if anyone knows i'd appreciate a response. thanks.

Not that I pay a lot of attention to the ST reports, but I always take those "sessions" messages kind of like a statistical report...indicating that the pitcher (or hitter) isn't playing very well...as if there are ST games being invisibly simmed.

I usually compare the ratings before and after the spring training but still don't have a clue. I do see that in many cases (but not always) that a pitcher's stuff skill rating increases/decreases when the ST report says he's had a good/bad pitching session. I know it's weird because there is another different statement in the ST report that tells you a pitcher's stuff is improved. I have also suspected that maybe it's telling you about a pitcher's movement since there is no mention about the movement in the ST report; however, I didn't find the movement skill rating changed as much as the stuff ratings did.

I guess the same goes to the good/bad batting practice for a hitter. I also noticed that in many cases his contact skill changes but not always. There was a time I thought maybe it means whether a hitter is in good shape of hitting or not. Ironically, I dropped a hitter who had a "poor batting practice" in ST to the 7th in my batting order; he won "hitter of the week" for the first week of the season and was my hottest hitter during the first month.

I always took it as they improved overall.

I've seen lost/gained control, lost/gained velocity... yet in my memory, I can't remember "stuff" (ie. avoiding hits in V5) I've always associated it with that.
