Star Ratings

I've seen a lot of discussion about star ratings on this board, so I'm posing this question to the masses. Star ratings are based on a player's talent relative to all of the players at that position (correct?). If so, do you actually use them to help evaluate players or do you go by actual talent ratings only?

Personally I use them to help "cull the herd" and then use the talent ratings to get a more precise idea of what players I want to pursue.

I use them as a quick overview of my players but before I make any important decisions I check each player out.

I'm a big fan of culling the herd of the sick and weakly. If the AI offers me a 1-star player in return, I immediately sentence that player to death and inflict a career-ending injury on that player. This inimidates the AI and they begin offering me much better players in return. Peace out.
