Can't Read Game Text

The game text in OOTP5 is broken and very difficult to read. I suspect that my bare bones video card is to blame. I disabled the Direct3D but this didn't help much. Getting a new video card isn't an attractive option. What else can I do to improve legibility?

With or without Direct X is the only game option... you might try changing the resolution of your screen.
