Logo Blacks
I just made a logo that is predominately black. Can someone tell me exactly what I need to do for OOTP5 (is OOTP6 any different?).
I'm thinking I just need to lighten it somewhat. I have PhotoShop5, could someone explain please? BTW... I'm glad I found this thread. A lot of great work in here! Thanx, dave

Easiest thing is just applying a brightness of, say, 10. This would erase the true black from the pic.

Don't know if Photoshop 5 has it but with 7 I use "replace color".
Set the main color to pure black....go to "Image > Adjustments (I think) > Replace color" and it will show you a preview of what part will be adjusted and a preview of the new color along with slider bars to change it. Increase the "brightness" slider bar to about +10 or so. Might want to increase the "Fuzziness" setting on the replace color window a little bit as well so that it catches more of the black. Not sure but I do that for good measure.

I use the great freeware program Irfanview to fix this problem with true black.
In the toolbar, I click on Image > Enhance Colors > Color Balance In color balance, move the slider for Black from 0 to 1. Voila! Save the image and you are done. Takes all of two seconds. Irfanview is available here. www.irfanview.com
