Flyers 6 Lightning 2

Well could this finally be the year for my Flyers?? After a disappointing game 1 loss they managed to split the first 2 in Tampa before heading to Philly for games 3 and 4. If Calgary can beat San Jose and the Flyers can get past Tampa they would have home ice in the Stanley Cup. I think this is their best chance they have ever had to win it over the last 15 or so years. What is everyones thoughts?? Who is gonna take it home?

Don't worry, the Flames have already won the Cup.

Home ice advantage for the Flyers now ... they've been deadly at home in the playoffs. I picked Tampa Bay to win the series but I dunno now.

I'm going with the Flames all the way! Actually I think any of the four teams could win it all; it's pretty wide open. But being a Flames fan for 18 years and suffering through 15 years of not winning a freakin' playoff round I am on cloud nine no matter how far they go now.

I'm not writing Tampa off by an stretch of the imagination. The Wachovia center is just such a tough environment and it is now essentially a 5 game series with the Flyers having home ice, they pretty much dominated the first period and a half of game 1 and had nothing to show for it. I'm just trying to get a feel for who everyone thinks the favorite is right now to win it all.

... in 1989. By beating the Canadien. I guess it's only fair, the Habs had beaten the Flames three years before, in the first Stanly Cup final I was alive for.

No offence but I doubt it. I got to watch him for many years here in Vancouver and ran into him a couple of times around town. A bunch of us went to a game against Tampa a few years back then out to the Roxy. Donald shows up by himself a little later and sits at the bar and grabs a Coors Light. A couple of the girls there were star struck or something and decided to ask for his autograph.

Hi Mr Brashear, could you autograph our ticket stubs?

F#ck off, I'm not working right now.

Yep, a real gentleman.....

Looks like Tampa Bay decided to play a little better tonight. Tampa Bay still undefeated on the road in the playoffs.

Yeah, real bad game for the Flyers. They have played extremely well coming off of a loss in these playoffs though so I look for a Philly win in game 4. I think this series is gonna go 7.

You were right about the series going seven. Great game. Did anybody see that save at the end to keep it 2-1. That was amazing, too bad it went in a losing effort.

Go Tampa! Now if we can just get those D-rays winnings, our teams will all be decent.

Philadelphia and Toronto don't really have class, where as New Jersey is a much "classier" team.

Any team with Scott Stevens on it is automatically classless. Philadelphia has guys that go out and work their asses off.

I disagree. I personally don't like Scott Stevens, but the rest of the team seems decent. Martin Brodeur and Scott Niedermayer are top notch.

The Flyers play a style I don't especially like, but I can stand guys like Keith Primeau. However, Roenick, LeClair, Amonte, Brashear, these are just guys everybody loves to hate. Let's also mention the presence of hockey's great a-hole, Bobby Clarke. I personally can't like a team led by that man. Wasn't it him that hired class act Ulf Samuelsson for his last season in the NHL?

I just noticed the the Flyers are the Blackhawks of 5-10 years ago, with Amonte, Weinrich, Roenick, Zhamnov, Hackett, etc.

Agreed about Brodeur and Niedermayer but I think Stevens has enough cheap shots to make up for the rest of the team . Also of the flyers you mentioned only Roenick and Brashear are guys I could see anyone disliking the other ones keep their mouths shut and play, Roenick is a guy that if he's on your team you love kind of like Brett Hull personality wise. Brashear is pretty much a goon but I can't say I've ever seen him take a huge cheap shot like a Domi or Stevens. As for Clarke, well everyone hates him Flyers fans included but that shouldn't hold anything against the actual players.
