dead ball era player creation modifiers
for those of you who have tried creating a dead ball style league, have you found any particular combination of creation modifiers to work well?
im not quite sure how something like -50% batter-power would translate into ratings. any ideas? v' |

I knew we could count on you for this Henry
. Question: have you done any tests on how to adjust these settings as you go through the succeeding eras to get realistic results? I'm thinking you would want to "ease" into it so as not to have one year's rookies be speedsters without power and the next year's be mashers. I haven't had a chance to play with this yet but I will over the next couple of weeks.

One more thing....I did one test league the other day with power -80% and no other changes. I noticed, however, that there were an unusual number of Ks. I had like 5 guys strikeout 300+ for the season. I know Ks totals were low in the deadball era. Did you have any problems in your tests with high K totals?

The transitional formulae would be very helpful in easing from era to era smoothly.

I'll try to answer as much of this as I can considering what I know, what I don't know, and what I'm allowed to say
![]() Strikeouts: I think there is a slight issue there that is currently being investigated. Transitional Eras: I don't have these yet, but I believe a decade by decade set of modifiers would be helpful. If used correctly, this would eliminate any need to play around with the League Totals anymore. I think that's all I know / can say ![]() Henry |

Henry I'll work with something over the weekend and try to get a transitional model set up. I'll post what I find.
jbmagic, I sent you a PM.

Guys... I may want to make a last minute chage to "stealing". I think it should be +25% instead of +50%. Speed is ok at +50%.
I'm testing this again now to be sure... Henry |

This may sound stupid, but it's the closest thread I've found to addressing the issue: How do player age modifiers work?
Does a -20% in the aging fields (under Engine Setup in League Setup) and a +20% in the development fields make players develop slower or does this slow down their degeneration as they get older? Am I making sense? I am trying to get my players to develop a touch faster and stay in their prime a touch longer as well. Any help with these setting is greatly appreciated! Thanks, Paul
