Menus slow

I have just loaded OOTP on my laptop (2.8ghz 192 mg RAM, 40gig HDD) However when playing OOTP 6.01 accessing the menus at the top of the screen is way slow compared to my other PC (which is of a similar SPec). I have no anti virus running or any others in the background and have just installed a fresh copy of Windows XP Home edition.

Turn off menu animation, in "game setup" I believe.

Thanks that has helped, however it is still enabled on my other PC.... Oh well if it works it works!
