Please Read and Thanks
Some months back a couple of guys suggested that we use this forum for maybe beta testing. Andrea's is now giving us the chance to find and fix anything wrong before he puts it in the game as an official patch.
I know some of you gentlemen love rating new fighters but think on this please. Jim Tom and Andrea's will be spending most of the time now or very soon on the Role-play game that's pretty obvious. So to my mind our chances now are coming to the end of time spent on this game. So it would be a big help, if some of you could help in what i see as the closing stages of our game. It wont muck up the game you have on already, just download the new game into a new folder or dir, and use that one for testing. You can rate new fighters in the many months ahead but this could be your chance to make this game perfect as can be. Better to find the final bugs now then our chances be lost forever. That's got to be a good thing for us buyers. To those not interested no problem, but if only a few help in this testing that would be a big help. Thank You My Fellow Boxing Lovers. Danny |

With all due respect, Wildhawke, that hasn't been my experience with OOTP Developments. Andreas and Markus don't move on, abandoning a game.
Don't get me wrong. Your suggestion is apt and timely. Since Andreas has shown us the courtesy of making public the beta incarnation of 1.5, we should be reciprocating by rigorously testing it. By the same token, I don't expect that 1.5 is the "closing stage" of the game, or that its public beta will be our last chance to improve the game. Again, that's just not how OOTP has worked in the past.

David
I was in fact your right trying to help Andrea's a little, but i still feel the team really would like to move on to the role-play. The sooner they can the quicker we will have the game. Lets not forget even this game ran at least a year behind. Put it this way the more that test the better the game will now be. No, i did not mean it would end at version 1.5 but there is not a lot more can be now put in the simulation i feel just tided up and perhaps some championship belts on show and a few minor thing corrected. Glad to see were both on the same team David. but i do take your points. Put it this way when the roleplay is almost ready for testing in private if they are looking for another 2 or 3 testers i feel sure that Andreas will take note of those who helped out in the testing of this game. Dont all rush at once Gentlemen

We are on the same page, Danny. In fact, creating new fighters can go hand in hand with the beta testing. Just now I posted a comment on the public beta of 1.5, because I found a problem when "play testing" a fighter that I had created.
Your general point is sound, though. We should be playing the game hard right now, trying to find its weak spots--so that Andreas can strengthen them--and seeing if there are other sensible improvements to be made before Andreas's time is swallowed whole by the role-playing game. (For some of us, after all, the role-playing game will not be the #1 game, even if we buy it to put some money in the pockets of OOTP and the Trunzos.)
