buying championship manager??

Does anybody know where you can get the latest version of CM in the US? It's not a download like OOTP, but I know I've read stuff from people here that play it so there's gotta be a way to get it here. Thanks.

It's not available in stores in the US. I always check the software sites in the UK and order from there. Usually takes a week or two to make its way across the pond. You might want to hold off a little if you are really interested as the new version (Football Manager) will be out before too long. I can't remember what the last version I bought was and whether or not I still have the manual. I might be willing to sell it to you if you are looking for an older used copy. I think I have the original CM4 (not the most recent update as I generally skip a version.)

There are quite a few places which will deliver the game via. mail order to America.

I am confident that future SI products including Football Manager and Eastside Hockey Manager will be available in America through normal retail channels.

Have Fun,

Marc

That's great news! Possibly due to the deal with Sega?

I've always purchased my copies through gameplay.co.uk, they ship to the USA. Market prices but in my experiences reliable and timely shipping.

gamer.uk.com currently has CM4 for £12.99, and shipping outside of Europe is an extra £4.00. I don't know if other sites have it cheaper than that.

I tried the demo a while back and loved it, just never got around to purchasing the game.

I get my CM games via gameplay and I also get the magazine through them. Buy CM 03/04, you will not be sorry...

I found some version prior to CM4 at fry's electronics here in Phoenix last summer, a classic-type packaging. I was so hooked that I went online and got CM4. Then around X-mas, I got 03/04.

I would definitely download the demo first if you are in the US. It lets you play 6 months and has all functionality. I love both CM and OOTP and think this merger will produce good things.

I always use http://www.special-reserve.com to order my copy of Championshp Manager. I've never had a problem receiving it from them, and I usually get it within a week of placing the order, even around holidays.

To tell you the truth, the difference in difficulty between CM4 and CM 03/04 was astronomical, at least for me. Your proficiency in tactics seemed more important in 03/04. I could take a good team to a championship now and then in CM4, but I was pretty talented in ruining a dynasty in 03/04. Much harder, and much more dependent upon tactics, 03/04, in my opinion.

That being said, in sigames.com, you can download demos of any CM game, any year, any version. You're allowed to play a half season and get a feel. I recommend downloading any and all versions. The best sports management sim game on the block.

I had to get a new Dell just to run CM4!! That's how into it I was at the time! I'm on a break thanks to OOTP but as soon as the European Championships roll around this summer I'll be back on CM for a few weeks!
