Yankees anyone?
As someone who loves to read the stories that pop up in this forum, here's something I've never seen -- someone do a dynasty about the Yankees...
yes, yes, we all love to take a struggling team and try to build them into a power. But from an artistic point of view, at least, wouldn't it be fun to see someone try to live up to the expectations and pomposity we've come to expect from the Bronx Bombers? Those of us who DON'T like the Yanks, of course, could chime in as the story develops with our own trash talking, and it would be as fun as the real life love-hate relationship with New York's team. Any good OOTP players/writers up to the challenge? |

actually...
...i'm going to be starting a dynasty with the yankees. i've been running a solo league, and i'm now into 2007. the yankees have become one of the worst teams in the league, and their fan support has fallen to levels typically reserved for teams like the expos and the devil rays (who, ironically enough, are now one of the top teams in the league).
my dynasty report should be starting once i finish up the current season in my fictional league. |

I would more than willing to do this as I have been thinking of starting up some dynasties. I totally hate the Yankees out of pure jealousy, but it might be fun to have unlimited amounts of money
Would you want me to do this in regular mode or manager?

I had the idea a few posts down to totally demolish the yanks....
http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...threadid=62622 then trying to build them back to the Yankee standard

I'm talking about starting at the top, rolling in lots of $$$$ and writing a dynasty like a true, proud (cocky? pompous? arrogant?) Yankees fan and trying to win it all every year... I envision things like more blockbuster trades to further stock your lineup and plenty of feedback from all the non-Yankees fan out there to keep it spicy... Check my Win At All Costs dynasty on the Red Sox and find the few posts by a guy named YanksAre (10 reasons to be a Yankees fan instead of a Red Sox fan, etc.)... That's the kind of thing I imagine... What's tougher, rebuilding a poor team into a contender in 4-5 seasons or taking a team with the expectations of winning it all every year and trying to meet those expectations? |

Oh, for the love of Don Mattingly, stop doing what every Red Sox fan does. You b.... and you moan and you cry about the "Evil Empire" rather than focusing on your own team. Huh, novel idea. Maybe if we spend as much energy on improving our own team rather than complaining about Aaron and Bucky and Babe and salary caps we might actually win.
