Botched Extension

As the commish of the WLB I process extension and post results to the forum. This season I made a mistake; I entered in the extension and the player like it. I posted the forum that he signed, but I forgot to hit the "Sign Extension" button. Course he goes on fire and now won't sign for the previous amount. The editor doesn't seem to be able to modify extensions. Is my only option to sign him to an extension at a higher amount and edit him next season? Is there any other way around this?

I did something very similar. I ended up letting him go to free agency, declared him off limits to sign, and signed him to the appropriate extension at the end of FA. His demands were far, far less when no one signed him.

Maybe not the most elegant solution, but I'm not sure if there's another way around it.
