Online leagues and waivers

Originally posted in the online league forum... but looking to see if other people have ideas:

Has anyone running a league thought of what they might do for in-game waivers?

The way I see it, it would take 3 sims to do:
Sim 1) Place a player on waivers & export and a new file comes out with players on waivers.
Sim 2) Teams place their claims.
Sim 3) Teams decide if they want to pull their players off waivers, or let them go.

The problem is, in many leagues this could take 3 game weeks - even longer in some leagues!

Has anyone come up with a better way? Or will most people just leave the option off? (Or do it outside of the game?)

Chris,

You are exactly right. We discussed this during beta and couldn't come up with a good solution. There is a further problem. On the day that the waiver request is processed and the player is switched to his new team, it takes their roster over the max player limit (assuming that they are at the limit), thus preventing the commish from simming any more games involving the team until it's fixed.

As it is now, it is tough to implement. Markus discussed having claimed players go to AAA, but the worry is that the team will get around the player having to clear waivers to go there.

Damn. So for online leagues, this feature is very difficult to use. Oh well, we can probably stick to doing it on the message board for now. Maybe sometime in the future it will be possible.
