Question development question

I'm at work right now so I can't test it myslf. My question is what would happen if you left a good prospect in the minors all his life instead of taking him to the Majors. Will he be a fantastic minor league player or will his talents/ratings drop because he'd be dissapointed about not getting the call.
What if you take a good prospect at A level and let him be your everyday player. What's going to happen to him ?
Does the game engine realize what you are doing?

I had Carlos Rivera of the Pirates retire at 28. I never promoted him because he just wasnt needed on my team. He got bore i suppose and retired.

I will never be able to test this because I just can't do it. If I don't have space for the guy, I'll trade him.
