Post Player Mood idea

Just a thought - how about a players mood affecting his game. Say a player who thinks he should be playing more starts sulking when benched - or demands a trade. Or a player balks at being sent down, and sits out.

Or the mop-up pitcher you just let get shelled for four innings now wants out because he feels you showed him up.

It could be tricky to implement correctly - this maybe an OOTP5 or 6 idea - but I think this is where the next step has to come in for dealing with a career management sim...dealing with the personalties of the players.

Yeah, I'd like to see that sometime in the future of OOTP. I agree with you though that it's probably not going to make it to OOTP4, but we can dream can't we?

I agree this would be a cool feature...I still remember the old board game Pursue the Pennant that introduced certain attitudes, such as where certain pitchers noted as Hot could trigger a beanball war and numerous ejections. Mario Soto of Cincinnati was one such hothead.

I like this idea, too. I've been toying around with a hockey sim lately (haven't really got into a full season yet) and it seems to have a feature similar to this. You get a message concerning a certain player, which says this certain player wants you to define his status within the organization, with your decision affecting player morale. With the new email system in OOTP4 this might hopefully be added,,an email from the player for example requesting more playing time.

And for injuries players get colds and stuff. Maybe that can be added if it hasn't allready.
