V5 Manual

Sorry to post a Q about this!!

I understand that the V6 Manual will be out when it is ready. I have attempted to find the V5 Manual thru links in some of these strings, but none of the links, including the OOTP download link, actually work. Can someone please point me in the right direction, or maybe actually send me that manual?

There's one at www.simleaguecentral.com

Register, reload the homepage, go to downloads, look around.

You also MIGHT have looked down the list of threads just a little bit, or even used the search function, and you wuold have found a manual thread with that information already in it.

This "let me just ask a question" without looking for existing threads on the subject crap gets way old way fast.

I DID do a search. I found the link that you provided me, which for some reason, will not work. I also found the link to the OOTP downloads page, which also would not work.

It MAY be my firewall, because I was able to get to the link you provided last night from a diff computer, but the instructions in that thread didn't state the need to register first.

So......I know you are trying to help, and I thank you for that. but....if my posting gets old, or annoying, you don't have to answer it.

Thanks.

1. I know that particular link works. If it's your system, no offense, but that's pretty much your own problem. We don't do your firewall, proxy, or browser settings.

2. I try to be helpful, but people asking for individual help on already-answered questions gets real old after a while.

3. You might have mentioned in your first post that the link did work for you on another computer. You posted "none of the links, including the OOTP download link, actually work" instead.

We try to be helpful - but if you want help then you have an obligation to be helpful as well.

Register at the site, reload the home page, and then find the download page and look for it. No, it's not simple. And if you think that Halofan's arcane way of providing file access is a real pain, you're not alone, and I've already told him that.

The commercials say Midol is very effective in relieving monthly bloating and discomfort.

Ummmmm...he did help him. And although people are new and the questions may have been asked several times - there is still a search function for a reason.

something to keep in mind before people jump on new posters (which MD really didn't do in this case).

THE SEARCH FUNCTION REALLY BLOWS. You can't search for "v5 manual"

IMO we are best off abandoning that sinking ship that is Off Topic to the rats infesting it and just starting a whole new Baseball Forum from scratch.

um, yeah. I think I'd stick with just making a post. People who are tired of reading them are more than capable of ignoring

Didn't say that he didn't. I was commenting on how fathom managed to do it without the public flogging.

All the posts that bitch about people asking questions only increase the number of unnecessary posts. (And my post commenting on that bitching adds to it even more, and so on...)

Can't newcomers just ask questions without the crap? Besides, sometimes their questions bring about answers that are useful to the rest of us.

if it was possible to sticky just one post, this would be my choice.

1. No, I didn't jump on him.

2. You certainly can search for "manual."

3. At the time he started the thread, the "Manual" thread with the link in it was only three threads down and in very plain sight. He didn't even need to search - which he didn't do and which would have worked - HE JUST NEEDED TO LOOK. He didn't.

4. Beyond that, if you read this thread, you will discover that he didn't provide enough information in the original post.

He was wrong on any number of counts...and I still didn't jump on him.

I didn't flog him. I didn't even jump on him. I answered his questions and was decent to him. Now STHU.

I keep wondering what yours is since NO ONE MOCKED HIM OR BITCHED AT HIM BEFORE HELPING HIM. Read the thread and stop with the lies.
