Banner Needed

To complete the re-design of the S3BL, we are looking for a banner. Here is the link to the new look site: http://www.s3bl.ootp-leagues.com/site/s3bl2.htm

I would like a banner to be very similar to the yahoo banner I have in place right now. Same exact size. Instead of Today In Sports -- I'd like it to read Strike 3 Baseball, with pictures of baseball players and black background.

This should be one of the last of my requests, since this will just about finish up the site. I'm sure I'm getting on everyone's nerves by now anyways

Wow. I love it. It fits right into the design of the page. Amazing work as usual, nothing short of what I have come to expect from a Dbacks image.

One thing maybe you could help me with. I want to put a color bellow the banner, so it doesn't go right from the banner to the rest of the site. What color do you think would look good right underneath the banner? I have black there now, but it just does not look right.

I took a screenshot of your page, and kept pasting it on top of the other image just to get an idea of how it would look. I'm glad I did that, because I made a few revisions to help it go with the page better.

Hmmm, you're right the black doesn't look "in place" right below the banner. Give me a couple minutes...

Sounds good. No real rush. I don't plan to release the S3BL's New look for a another week or so. I still have some bugs in the HTML code to work out.

Okay, just a small suggestion. I wouldn't be offended at all if you choose not to use it.

Honestly, I don't think there is a color that would look good. If you want to put something below the banner, try a gradient.

Here is one that you could use. It's much thinner, but I think the gradient looks better than the solid black you had before.

Otherwise, I wouldn't put anything underneath the banner. Maybe a small horizontal line (hr) halfway between the banner and your headlines, but that's it.

Just a suggestion, but I'd get rid of the bar you have right now.

I'm going to use the gradient. It's not big like the bar, but it gives it enough of an effect that it doesn't go right from the banner to the site.

Now all I have to do is figure out what the hell is wrong with parts of the code, and I should be all set to release the new site

Ok, it was just a suggestion. I tried several colors that I thought would work instead of black, but none of them fit in well with the site.

On the other hand, if you wanted to combine both, you could give this one a try. It's the same navy blue as the AL/NL League on the right (2006 Wins Race), but it's still a gradient. I think this will work fine as well.
