Post Throw to base logic

Markus:

Would it be possible to add a yes/no decision where there is a runner on 1st and 3rd or bases loaded where the end-user can decide where to throw.

I am still encountering the 1st and 3rd with no outs in the ninth where the game is tied or I am ahead by one scenario and OOTP chooses to turn two rather than throw to the plate to gun down the winning/tying run.

I second that. I don't think I've ever seen my infielders throw home to stop a run, regardless of the game situation. Fortunately my outfielders have guns and throw out their share of guys heading for the plate.

Have you tried playing your infield in?

No offense, but playing the infield in is not what is in question. The question is that of the logic in the simulation with respects to baseball. Under no circumstance would a manager turn a double play with no outs in the bottom on the ninth with the bases load or first and third.

true, i agree that issue needed some tweaking and got overlooked in ootp4 despite coming from ootp3. same as when the shortstop decides not to risk a bad throw and lets the runner on third score the winning run.

Right, correct baseball logic would have the infielder throw home to attempt to stop the runner from scoring.Or even hold him at third.Especially when the game is on the line.
