MLB Replay league needs new Reds owner

The MLB Replay League is a historical league currently finishing the 1912 season. Our Senators owner has dissapeared [I think he may be having computer problems but he has been out of touch for a couple of weeks]. Our current Reds owner has said he would like to switch to the Senators so the Reds are now vacant.

There are several unique features to this league. We sim very fast with a month long or month and a half sim done each weekday. We aim to sim a season a week and then do the off season the following week. We do not use free angency but use a non-monetary waiver system to try to stimulate player movement.

We have a very dedicated and experienced pool of owners and I'm obviously looking for someone who has the time to be active in this league. You are not required to submit a lineup every sim but are expected to check your team after every or most sims and be active in the league. OOTP experience or knowledge of baseball history is not required. Owning the game is required.

Please check out the site and emal me at onyx@vianet.ca if you are interested in taking over the Reds.

Thanks....

Mike Quinn [Commish of the MLB Replay league]

If you're a fan of historical leagues this league is definitely worth your time to check out at the very least. It's a very fun and exciting league and different from most leagues. With the fast paced sim schedule it makes the league more interesting and you get to see your players develop quicker and the like. If you're one of those people that aren't sure about such a fast paced league, take it from me, it's tons of fun. I was pretty skeptical about the format before the league started but I decided to give it a chance and it's been a blast so far.

One quick note though, Mike is a mean S.O.B. so you have to watch out for him.

Just kidding Mike, I love you in a platonic heterosexual kind of way.

It is the first historical league I have played and have found it a lot of fun. The fast sim pace really appealed to me, as you can see careers develop quickly.

Mike is very reliable and the simulations are always run as scheduled. The quick pace and a draft of fully developed players every other week keeps trades to a minimum, but as a person who loves to draft, having one every other week is great.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's required. With a league like this it would be quite hard to run a team without the game.

No, it's not required that you own the game. In fact if you don't own the game, you'll be given a copy of the game for free. All you have to do is sign-up for the special exemption status, pay your $19.95+TAX dues and you're in! If you do own the game, you don't get a free copy but you save yourself the signup fee for special exemption status.

Yes owning the game is required. Like Stacy said if you don't own it there's a $19.95 membership fee which will be sent to Markus after which you will be able to download a copy of the game for free

*bump* Still looking, The Reds may be a bit of a rebuilding project but they have the 2 time defending NL batting champion Shoeless Joe Jackson, plenty of surplus starting pitching to trade and the first overall pick in this year's draft

Come on in. The fast pace of the season is a fun change from most other leagues. Easier to plan for the future when the future isn't so far away.
