New Member looking for a Nice League.

I've been playing OOTP park for almost 4 years now. I havn't been around the boards much recently though. I am looking to branch out into a online league. Historical would be prefered, but Mordern Day would be okay with me if a spot was open as well. For the past few years i've been dedicating myself to Solo leagues. However i am growing away from that. Please let me know if there is any leagues out there willing to give a solo league vet a chance. Thanks, Steve

If you're interested in a well-run fictional league, check out the KBL in my signature. You could still get in for the end of this year and for the draft before next season.

I'll second the motion for the KBL. Great league, good people, great commissioners. I've got nothing but good things to say about the KBL.

I'll also add a nod for Green Monsta. We've just started free agency for the 1984 season and I believe the Boston franchise is still available. Monsta uses a mix of real players from the league year, All-Time Greats and fictional players created by the owners.

Both leagues are linked in my .sig.

Well i got a reply from the Commihioner. With Bad news Boston was filled yesterday. So if anyone else has a league out there that needs a Owner. Let me know. I would for sure give 100% and be as active as any GM in the league

The UDBF is a new league that will be starting with updated 2004 rosters. We are scheduled to use OOTP6 when it is released, but may go earlier with OOTP5, if the league fills. There are plenty of good teams available. Nick, the Commish has run several other leagues and is a good guy. Check us out at http://udbf.0catch.com/ Go to the frums link for available teams. Also there is a post further down in this thread.

tMBU - link here - could use an owner for our Lexington Legends franchise. We are a unique fictional league, in that we have a Player Agent as well as a "sister" Japanese League with which we exchange players each off-season.

If you are interested, drop me a line.

Heroes of Yesteryear is a new league that's just getting started.

Still in June of our first season. There's a mix of newer players and experienced GM's and commissioners in the league. There are a few teams still open.

Heroes of Yesteryear

Should have added - historical league starting in 1970.

MLB Replay is great too (I'm in it) but the pace might be a bit much for someone's first league.

Give him about 2 weeks then he'll be ready for his 2nd, 3rd and 4th leagues.

check out AtBaT League

I just lost a couple of GM's who took on more than they could chew.

We are in our first year, historical league starting in 1921.

Have negro league players, unbanned the black sox players. have adjusted salary ie. Babe Ruth makes $47,500. All figures adjusted for the time period.

Our league will also broadcast live each and every World Series game on the internet.

Check out the league at www.AtBat.net

If you're interested, send me an email or post here.

Check it out, great league, great ownership. You'll understand after 1 day within the league.

Boston currently open, after the WS some others may open up.

I've been a commish of various baseball leagues for over 15 years, and I'm now commish of the United League, an alternate historical league that started in 1951 with eight teams and historical players. We have expanded to 10 teams, and are on the verge of the 1956 drafts, and our New York owner had to leave the league. We have very little turnover, and a great group of active owners. The New York Gothams have (an aging) Jackie Robinson, Larry Doby, Bob Friend, and a lot of young prospects coming up. We don't use free agency, but have a unique system that combines element of free agency with the reserve system that was prevalent in that era.

The league page is here: http://www.smithtj.com/unitedleague/
And the Gothams team page: http://www.smithtj.com/unitedleague/team8.html

Let me know if you are interested or have any questions.

Thanks!

When you say you haven't been around much, do you mean as "Big Steve" or as one of your other names like LiftheCurse (600 posts in the last 3 months)?

In the last 10 days you joined 5 leagues? That's working fast!
