OOTP baseball fan, inquiring on Title Bout

Im a really really casual boxing fan, first off.

I like the ootp baseball series and am kind of interested in this game. Would it be worth the $35?

Is it well put together and deep? Or is that all hype.

I havnt seen reviews so i thought id ask you guys.

THX

It's a great game! A number of people on here have said they're not big boxing fans but love the game. Getting hooked on this game might turn you into a fight fan as well.

So do you get to make a fighter and have a career? All i seem to read is having fights between guys like Ali vs Lewis (etc etc).

Matches we would like to see but cant.

Whats the main aspect to the game?

I think that the roleplaying game might be more what you are looking for Jonzard. Thats coming out hopefully next year. But having said that the game is very much worth 35 dollars. It is the best boxing game ever without exageration. Boxing , like baseball has such a history behind it, and this explores the entire range of boxings greatest and in some cases worst. However some people have decided to just keep the ratings re name the fighters to fictious boxers and have a great time with the game that way. Some people have added Rocky and Apollo Creed and Drago so it is very versatile.

Plus with a little bit of imagination, a few clicks and some additional user created fighters you can create a fairly beefy universe that allows you to sim through history, similiar to OOTP's import options from Lahmans database. Unfortunately you can't import fighters from say Boxrec.com, as ratings here are so much more subjective, but it does not take much work to create a very enjoyable experience that will completely immerse you.

Count me as a non-boxing fan really, but I love the game.

Had especially good fun feeding my worst strawweight to Ali in his prime tonight 100 times

I sim fights that never took place & try to avoid having fights that took place in real life because I know the outcome of those. It's fun to speculate: What If?

I've always been a very casual boxing fan as well. I had the Title Bout game as a kid and had fun with it, but always had other sports that got more attention. Since I bought TB for the computer, however, I've started to become a bigger fan, actually paying closer attention to what's going on in real life. I'm running an extensive tournament which is helping me learn more about boxers from all eras. I've more than received my money's worth from the game so far, and if you have disposable income I'd recommend the purchase.

I only know the result of one fight in the history of boxing (Bruno vs Tyson).

I'm also interested in this. But there is no feature where you can create a fighter? Too bad...would be interesting to say the least.

I'll think about this...I plan to read a buncha threads on the game
