There is one planned no timetable that I am aware of.

How hard would it be to make a demo of the game? I really need to see the demo before I even consider putting any money into it, even if it is only $20. It seems like the demo could be put out there fairly easily.

Unless you are a programmer then it might not be so easy to say. I am not one and don't know how hard and not going to assume that it is so easy to do.

Well, I figured $20 would be like the price for a couple of drinks. Since I was snowed-in all weekend, I figured it was a pretty good deal to keep me occupied.

In my case, It'd be two fewer packages of diapers. So, I'd like to play a demo first. Although, I must say, from everything I'm reading on these forums I'm almost ready to go ahead and make the leap without checking out a demo first.

Still, for peace of mind, I'd like to be sure I could get into the game first.

There is a 7 day refund policy. If you don't like it, get your money back. I have more than gotten my money's worth with this game.

Why a demo? Why not a 3 day FULL FEATURED GAME trial?

Because a timelimited demo would be cracked by dishonest people who didn't want to pay for the game.

A shame we all have to suffer for their behavior.

I would assume that the "demo" would be a time limited, full featured version of the game. That's the way they've done them in the past.

The OOTP demo only allows you to play 1 or 3 months of a season, I forget which.

The OOTP5 Demo I played was a full featured, 3 day trial. EIther way, I'm kinda getting tired of waiting for one.

The excuse that they were trying to work some bugs out before they put a demo out there, actually makes me LESS interested in purchasing the game. (Especially since it's taken so long)

And don't tell me it's because they're a small company. 400 Software is a small company, too. They put out TPF a week or two after ITP, and their demo has been out for a week.

I'm not trying to bitch, too much anyway. I'll check back in a few months after I'm bored with TPF (for which I gladly paid twice as much as ITP, AFTER I played the demo, and enjoyed the game)

A refund at Viatech is not nearly as easy as suggested above. Yes, you can get a refund, but the hoops to jump through and my attempts to reach them took longer than it did to sim a season in ITP -- and that's really slow.

Back to the demo. This is getting pretty ridiculous. SI Games, makers of the legendary CM series, put out their demo a few weeks BEFORE release and the demo goes for half a year. That is high quality in getting the demo out that fast. Having to wait this long for a demo is gettnig really ridiculous and turning me away from OOTP Dev.'s products.

*by half a year, I mean half a season, not for 180-something days.

Last time I checked SIGAMES had just a "few" more programmers than OOTPDev. The reason a demo of ITP isn't out is due "in part" to the following:

-1)Development of OOTP6
-2)Compilation and programming of ITP patch/update.

If OOTP6 doesn't take priority then chances are our next game will be................................................ ....................

So in this case it is a business decision, one I dare say 99.9% of our customers or potential customers would agree with. The ITP demo is put on the back burner for now.

Bash away............

a fully featured trial is the way to go, like .400 do, i dont think ppl can crack the so called "code" to play it for free using e-liscence.
