Contract question...

Whenever I trade for a prospect, the game automatically places it on my major league roster most of the time. Does this start the countdown towards FA, or do they actually need to play in a game...??

They do not have to play, but if you leave the player on the 25 man roster for a sim period (even a day) then I believe the countdown to FA starts. That is how it was in v3 anyway. To avoid this in a trade (or after the ammy draft) a quick way to see if the player is a MLC (minor league contract) prospect is to view your 25 man roster by salary.
