I run a league where owners play their home games and I've been wondering if there was some way we could do our championship gamess and maybe even the all-star game in a way that was more immersive than just one player playing against the AI and posting the results.
Is there any chance that you OOTP guys would consider putting a cut to clipboard command on the play by play window. If we had that, I would be able to play out the game and relay the results to the coaches who are playing via a chat window just by cutting and pasting. I'm not 100% sure we would go this route but it seems intriguing and promising to me. Any other opinions? Good idea or not? |

This is definitely a great idea.

...thanks for the vote of support.
I've been thinking that the commish can have a chat window open where he sends the game play by play to everyone watching, and as well, he can have two seperate private chat windows to each of the coaches so they can tell him what strategy to use and what moves to make without anyone else seeing it. The coaches who are playing can still have their OOTP games open in small screen mode and can check stats and rosters as the game progresses so they have almost all the info at their fingertips as the game goes on. More I think about it the cooler it sounds for doing championships. |

Sounds like a nice work around - will the print screen and paste not work? There are some free utilities that do screen captures nicely out of windows (and some better ones that cost money too). I use one called "Print Screen Deluxe" which is not free but works great. Check download.com
This came up a while ago too - the possibility of using web casts ?? I forget the actual names but at work we can have people follow along watching any application from a single control pc from anywhere in the world. Myplaceware.com is one example. They used to be free for up to one hour sessions, I haven't used them in a while though. hope this helps,

Print Screen and paste in MS Paint will give you the screen shot that you can post if you want to do your world series that way.

C'mon guys, I'm not going to do a screen grab after every play of a OOTP game.
This is what I want to be able to do: 1. Players playing game and myself on a chat window. Coach A tells me what he wants to do on defense, Coach B tells me what he wants to do on offense. 2. I do it on my PC, copy the text from the play by play window and paste it into the chat. Both players see the results and we go on to the next batter. Voila...instant multiplayer. |

Hey blmeanie,
Thanks for the link. It looks like just the ticket, except they don't give a price and it's a business app so it probably costs a couple hundred dollars at least which is overkill. I asked Markus about PC-Anywhere, which is pretty much the same thing, at one point and he said he had tried it but it was a bit slow. The only reason I'm asking for the cut and paste is because it's probably a 10-20 minute change if Markus decides it's a good idea. I was a little rough on the screen grab suggestion, but I tried it out and it comes to something like 10 mouse clicks per play which is too much work. |

Peterk,
I agree that it might be too expensive, but as recently as 6 months ago it was free for 1 hour installments. They recently changed their pricing plans evidently. There may be other providers of similar services out there for free, I'll take a look 'cause I'm curious about this too, certainly for a "featured" game of the week or something like that once in a while.
