I am a participant in the ATG Challenge posted here a couple of weeks ago. It helped further some ideas I've had brewing (thanks Gary) for a while and now I am ready to commish a series of challenges of my own.
There will be a loose common theme between three distinct one season challenges. Each challenge will reward points based on finish and the sum of the points awarded from all three challenges will determine the overall winner. See the link here Deuces Wild I am an experienced commish and will take a team. There will be 11 teams available. Email or post here for inclusion. steve

Not a bad first day, 9 teams still open for this unique challenge.

Damn it, if I had more time I'd be all for this one as well alongside ATG.

I've emailed you ....but I have a couple questions
- When do you need the player's names? - Are we using the default import settings that come with the game? - Are we all using Old League Park, or do we use the teams' parks? Last edited by metsgeek; 02-09-2004 at 12:40 AM. |

Once teams are filled, pick order will be established and franchises and years picked. Then I will import players into game and create download file for owners to put 25 picked players into majors and all others in minors for me to delete out of file. 2 ) yes, default import as they come in from latest Lahman's db, no editing whatsoever 3 ) undecided, good point, will likely allow historical parks from one of the years as long as we can get the attributes and ratings. This one sounds good, guys! And you get a new team each season, so if you don't choose well, you can always make up for it in the other 2 seasons

) then you could still easily come back in the next two challenges.

hmm... how much time would you think this would take? I doubt I have time for a full league, but with no trading and no financials, and no real offseason to speak of, I can't imagine it would take all that much time.

According to the site, we'll sim 2 months per week.
I figure we'll finish each round in 4-5 weeks, so the league would end in late May/early June if we start in a couple weeks. |

that is roughly correct, the real time spent will be in picking the teams/players. There will be no "drafts" per se so it will be quick compared to a traditional league. Once I import the teams/years into a file, each owner would only have to pick their players and let me know.
Week to week, again, the sims are month at a time so each season or challenge will be pretty quick. Much less time committment needed than a traditional league.

currently half full.
Ouch, math really is my thing...I stand corrected, 7 of 12 filled, slightly less than half remaining.
