Question Windows XP compatibility?

Will OOTP4 be Windows XP compatible?

Also, any plans to port the game to Linux?

Thanks,
Jeff

I am not personally running XP, but fairly certain that some are w/ no problems. Using OOTP3 that is.

I recently started running XP (which by the way is hella stable compared to win 98) and OOTP3 has been nothing but excellent. I'm confident OOTP4 will be no different.

OOTP4 works quite nicely on XP. Of course, individual computers may vary.

I run XP and the game is blank 1/5 of the screen. I have posted here and e-mailed markus to no avail. The reason is my monitor can only go to 800X600 resolution, and to my knowledge there is no workaround.

This sounds like an older model monitor, it is next to impossible for a company (especially a small one) to test for all configurations as there are literally 1,000's. Doubtful this issue will be resolved due to the fact that most if not all new monitors allow for higher resolution.

Thanks to everyone for the replies and the information. I am currently running ME and it's not as stable as I would like it to be. Looking at Microsoft's next generation of unstable products like XP. I want to give Linux a whirl soon so I may try and get OOTP4 to run on that

XP is awesome, everyone in the world knows ME is the worst version of windows ever made. I'd personally rather have 95 over ME! Do yourself a HUGE favor and go purchase a copy of XP, do a fresh install and get everything from ME off your computer.... that's what I had to do.

I know I'm in the minority, but let me just say this:

I HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH WINDOWS ME.

The last time it crashed at all was about two months ago, and it was my fault for fiddling with 'important' files. OOTP3 has never, repeat NEVER crashed on me.

I have a HP Pavilion laptop with 800MHz, so it's not like a have a superfast computer or anything. I just wanted to say that ME is not the worst and in fact that I have had no problems with it. NONE.

Windows 98 was the worst OS that I ever used. It crashed every time I opened Outlook Express, and about 1/4 of the time I had to restart the computer in the middle of booting it up.

Edit - Okay, now I'm preparing for the hundreds of replies with horror stories about Windows ME.
