New Lahman Database available!

Not sure if everyone knows or not but I thought I'd give you a heads up in case you didn't, I just checked and the new Lahman database is up at baseball1.com

Use the "comma-delimited" version, I'm d/l it now to see if it even will work w/ OOTP5.

Ok, just did a quickie import of 1977 and things 'appear" ok. I've not tried anythingelse with the db so "USE AT YOUR OWN RISK".

I was able to import 2003 but during the import and league creation process I got a message something like "league year not found in database", clicked OK and the league finshed being created and appears to be fine.

I wonder if the team abbreviations got changed again...

I got the same message and it seemed to work, but is there any way to start a season beginning in 2004, I haven't been able to do that, any ideas?

I got the same message, but it works for me also. Now i'm gonna sound like a newbie because i just never noticed this before playing past historicals. I loaded the 2003 season from Lahman, and when i clicked on a player, any player for that matter, under his "Basic Stats" , found on the player profile just above 2003 it says" Real", depicting of course their 2003 actual stats. Just never saw the word "real" is my point

2003 didn't sim right for me, but it works with that 2003 update down at the baseball sim central file center.

After 4 games the rbi leader had like 80 and around game 16 an OOTP error popped up and shut it down. One game had like a score of 189 to 90.

you have to Recalculate League Leaders...i noticed it was screwed up, I didn't play any games with it, not sure htough

I've tried to sim 2003 several times and get an error each time and a resulting crash. I even reset the league and ran computer manager and still had problems.

I've let Markus know of this problem.

I simmed 2003 with no problems at all. League totals were fine.

Only problem was the WS. Same two teams as 93 except opposite results. Phillies won in 6.

Very strange, I tried 3 times all with the same crash result.

This year's addition of the Lahman database is just as inaccurate as all the others. The only things they seem to get right are the player names and sometimes the birthdates.

Is it too much to ask for the ratings to be correct? How about the fielding %s and the baserunning info?

I do use the Lahman database just because there really is no other option but it requires ALOT of editing and the 2004 addition appears to be exactly the same as the 2003 addition. The pitchers were supposed to have WP totals and the fielding info was supposed to be improved but of course none of that was done. There were several other changes that were mentioned in the Readme file but I didn't see any of it reflected in what I downloaded.

What a joke.
