Lightbulb How to find a great established league to join

I see discussion on great leagues and what makes a great online league and how do you find a great established league and it dawned on me that the best leagues like the best products don't need to advertise and if they do only on rare occasions. The best thing to do to find the very best established leagues, is to look for the ones that rarely post opening, like The FIBB
or never post openings because they already have people around the block trying to join, like The FOBL. Get on the waiting list and hope you get in the next time an opening occurs.

they never post because you do it for them, lol.

In all seriousness, you have a point, some of the best leagues are the ones you do not hear about in here, not to say there isn't a LOT of good ones listed in the forums too, and there will always be new ones that WILL succeed. It is a crap shoot.

My suggestion to joining good leagues?

Join a few, make some friends in them and go to the ones that all your friends seem to go to, eventually, you end up with a bunch of people you like in a great league. That is also an easy way to do things.

Hey Deft... I actually got involved in OOTP with because of Hawk over in the UBO testing more than a year ago... And I have actually found about 2 or 3 great leagues. So I think Karen makes a good point. Join into leagues, it helps get you involved with people who aren't much different than you, and you end up in a sort of simleague cult.

That's the best tip for newbies, or people who haven't been around long. Explore!!
