more interaction and more

To me the most important addition to OOTP 6 would be a more challenging and complex manager mode.
Like in some british or German soccer managers the team owner or president is much more flexible.
Here are my opinions about what the team owner in OOTP 6 should be able to do :

1. owner expectations should vary and not only be for one year. Something like: you have three years time to build a championship team or something like : reach the playoffs in two years. Or even that the owner tells you to win the WS in the next five seasons.

2. Team owners should take command of the direction the ballclub goes. Like : You have two years to trim the payroll to 40Million $ or you are allowed to increase the payroll to 70 Mil $.

3. Let the owner decide that you should sell the stars to build a farmsystem, or lower the age of the team.

4. Let owners sell the team and so you suddenly face a new owner, who has a totally different expectations and direction.

5. Let owners have a sort of Veto, if you want to trade a real fan favourite and All Star. Like if you play the the 1999 Orioles the owner wouldn't allow you to trade Cal Ripken and so on. But there should also be the possibility that the owner really dislikes a player, which will make it harder for you to re-sign that player.

O.K. that's it for now, maybe more ideas later.

I'm not going to respond to every one of the points made, but I do think that it would be cool if, each season, the owner would give the user a budget, which would either allow the user to add payroll or force him to cut payroll. The budget should be based on income, recent performance and current expectations, fan base, fan loyalty, and other relevant information.

Then, during the season, the owner could increase the budget if the team looks like it has a chance of making the playoffs.

Perhaps, if you want to make a trade that will go over the budget, you can hit a button that says "Ask owner to increase budget to _____." Then you type in your requested amount and the owner will either approve or deny it, depending on the factors listed above. If you get denied too many times, it could lower the owner's mood, and play a factor in whether or not you have a job.

I also think that it would be cool for the owners to have the opportunity to block a trade that you make. If the trade isn't acceptable, one of the reasons could be that your owner won't approve it.

Skywalker, all of those ideas seem good to me. I'd like to see those implemented in the game. It would definitely add to the realism.
