Exclamation HoF/Retirement Issue

I need some help to hopefully salvage my league!

I am playing a 16 team fictional career starting in 1900. I am currently in 1933, trying to proceed to 1934. One particular pitcher has been in the league since 1908, pitching 25 years and amassing 369 wins. He will retire when I proceed to 1934. The problem is, when I proceed, he makes the HoF with his 1908 stats being converted into a mess of numbers - he pitches like 57,000 innings that year, saves 192 games, and strikes out 33,000 guys, all with an ERA of 0.13. This lowers his career mark to 0.36. Before I proceed, his 1908 stats are fine. After I proceed, and I've done this 4 times, restoring each time to post-WS 1933, his screwed-up stats are exactly the same every time.

Is there some way to fix this? The guy is already going to retire as my all-time strikeout king with 4600+, he doesn't need to add another 33,000 to hold the #1 spot.

Anyone with a suggestion?

Well, this isn't a retirement issue. I changed his birthday so that he was 33 instead of 43, which would keep him active, and when I proceeded, he didn't retire, but his numbers were the same as when he retired. It looks like I'm screwed either way.

You can possibly use the PE2 editor to look at the stats and adjust them if they need too.

I may try that, although I've never used it before. Problem is, not only his stats are screwed up, but the year as well. For instance, 1908 is now 163322 or something like that. I don't know what the issue is, it's not like a one-time thing, it happens every time I proceed to 1934, and I've done it 10 times now in different ways. It's like it is pre-disposed to the error no matter what. Maybe it's related to how many years he played? I don't ever recall someone playing from 18 to 43 in any of my other leagues.
