Pioneers of the Diamond Seeks Four
Pioneers of the Diamond (POTD) is a fantastic 28 team fictional league currently in the postseason in 2005 - its third year. We have an $85 million salary cap, $25 million cash cap and do LIVE SIMS three times a week (seven days per sim) on Tuesday nights, Thursday nights and Sunday nights (all at 9:30pm EST). Feel free to check out our league and site at
http://www.potd.simleaguecentral.com/index.php Now onto the good stuff (read: available teams)... Hudson Hawks (89-73 in 2005, second place in division): Hudson has an outstanding core of young studs and, with good management, could become a force in the Frontier League. The downfalls of this team lie mostly in two strong divisional opponents, Glacier Bay and the young and up-and-coming Alcatraz Island Jailbreak. Of course that could also mean some exciting three team races in future seasons ![]() Richmond Cavalry (66-96 in 2005, fifth place in division): Richmond is a one year old expansion team that would need a dedicated owner who loves the challenge of building a team up from scratch. They do have some prospects in their farm so they're not entirely dry (and will also have a great pick in this upcoming ammy draft) as well as plenty of cash and cap room. New York City Heat (74-88 in 2005, third place in division): New York City is similar to Richmond in that they require a dedicated owner who likes the challenge of building a team up. However, they are in better shape than Richmond as they have more prospects and young players ready to help sooner. And having the sickest catching prospect in the league ready to come up on opening day of next season doesn't hurt either. Mexico City Diablos (95-67 in 2005, second place in division and current wildcard winner in the Frontier League): Mexico City's current owner is hanging with us through the postseason, but has already informed us of his resignation after that so this team becomes available immediately after the World Series. This is a strong team, with a rotation and bullpen ranking near the top of the league. Along with Hudson, this is a team that could be a perennial contender for many seasons to come. Any interest in any of the four above teams, be sure to hit up our commish, Mike Lambert (email: duckfart76@comcast.net, AIM: halofan26), and/or myself as deputy commish (email: cyclone792@aol.com, AIM: cyclone792).

Great cast of characters in this league. I highly recommend them, if you have the means.

i'd definitely join this league if you're a dedicated GM who likes fun competition... heck my expansion Royales managed to compete and would've made the playoffs if it hadn't been for a collapse at the end...

New York City and Richmond have been taken. Hudson and Mexico City remain. Offseason activities for 2006 start next week so now is the perfect time to grab one of the two remaining teams!
