Shameless Plug

If anyone wants to get involved in some other established OOTP leagues, I head up three excellent ones.

Monty Brewster Baseball Association MBBA is a all fictional players league, with one of the most active group of owners you could imagine.

Federation of International Baseball FIBB is a real players league, who have been dispersed into a pool and drafted to a new fictional international league that "purchased" MLB. Cool premise, cool league.

Other Reality Baseball ORB is a historical simulation that began in 1982. We're in 1987 right now. Well run historical league with a quality group of owners.

I don't have any openings right now, but the way we award teams when they do open is by giving them to the active "vultures", who stick around and be active while waiting for a team. Even if you're just interested, all very cool leagues to pop in on and join the Forum conversations.

Hope to see some of you there.

For those worried about the commissioner being stretched too thin between three leagues, Recte up there doesn't actually run the MBBA or the FIBB: that job is handled by Travis McDermott and Joel Odenbach, respectively.

I don't know a thing about the ORB, but I can vouch that the other two are well-run leagues filled with smart, fun and active owners. Also, Brian.

I'll vouch for all three, including the ORB which is very well-run by commissioner Bob Smyk.

Vultures in these leagues *will* get ownership spots if they make themselves known, so you owe it to yourself (and SpaceNinja) to check them out.

The FIBB has one more regular season sim to go in 2004 and then the playoffs. It is likely that there will be a team open for 2005 so now is a good time to come check it out.

We affectionately call this the "GBC Trio".

All 3 leagues are a blast and have a great owner base. Opennings are a rare in all the leagues.

You didn't think we could ever let a team from Paris be successful did you?

Looking forward to seeing some new "vultures" around the GBC leagues.

I Commish the MBBA and I'm not embarassed to say its one of the best leagues out there, bar none.

I would say that probably half of the MBBA arrived through the "vulture" route, including me.

The MBBA was one of the most exciting league I've been a part of one time or another. I suggest anyone who is looking for an exciting league with a great core of owners to join this league.

What they said.

I wouldnt be using OOTP if it werent for Recte and his keen ability to run a league.

Hi, as head of the ORB, I can definitely chime in and say that we are always looking for good quality vultures. We're running the ALL Star Game tonight, and with all the leagues that form and die in the OOTP community you really can't go wrong with any of them. If you're looking for a great historical league with a great bunch of owners, give us a try.

Remember the naked laps around the neighborhood? That stands out to me more than his performance as Seattle Owner. Altho that is all tied up in there. He sold off the last of your good players, AJ.

That's OK, I got more.

"What's that? I just joined the league and I have the #1 overall pick? Sweet!"

One of these days we'll get that damned SpaceNinja, and his little dog, too.
