Bummer of a Crash

One out, bottom of the 11th, runners on 1st and 3rd, sitting in 5th place in the NL Central. The Reds, the fourth place team score in the top of the 11th but my Brewers lead off with a game tying blast. The next three hitters manage to create the listed situation. My catcher, a nice bunter, surprises the defense with a successful squeeze, CRASH, DESKTOP. BUMMER

A lot of people say that they've had this problem in certain situations. Personally, I've yet to see it, but I haven't played a lot with the most recent patch yet. So I'm sure one of the development crew will report this to Markus so it can be fixed in the future.

Getting frustrated. I am a manager who believes in the power of the squeeze. It does not always work but whenever it does, I crash. Returning to Eastside Hockey Manager, will return when this is repaired. I check in on the site regularly, will be watching for the patch.

There was a second release of patch B, did you get it? This was fixed I believe.

Thanks, maybe not, will surely try. It is a great game, but it was great as OOTP and OOTP3 as well. Don't really understand why I missed 2, hehe.

Nope, it is exactly the same file that I downloaded at 8:41 pm on March 17. The game still is crashing on me with a successful squeeze bunt. I will reload the patch and try again, but holding out little hope.

Markus fixed part of the problem in patch 4.0b as he said in<a href="http://www.ootpbb.com/board/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic&f=4&t=000200" target="_blank">Squeeze Bunt for Run problem (OOTP4) </a>. What he ended up fixing was the squeeze bunt code for all non-crucial situations. However, as we've been discussing in<a href="http://www.ootpbb.com/board/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic&f=4&t=000374" target="_blank">squeeze play crash</a> the game will still crash when the squeeze play ends the game with a win. (I've yet to have an unsuccessful squeeze create enough outs to end the game, so I don't know if that would also cause a crash.)

Also, the fix for squeeze bunts in 4.0b created a new problem: a successful squeeze will allow runners on both 3rd AND 2nd to score. Although the game will not mention the player on the 2nd scoring, he will disappear from the base paths and an extra run will be recorded.

My latest crash was caused by tying the game in the eighth inning...

Bumping won't do anything... its a bug plain and simple. It is being worked on for the latest patch (available soon).
