Post No teams

I have the game installed on my computer and kept on receiving the C++ runtime error. I finally got that to work out but now when the league loads there are no teams anywhere. I tried the restore league option but still no teams appeared. I try to create a new league but get the C++ runtime error message. Any help here? Thanks in advance

I've un-licensed and re-installed the game. And still the same thing keeps happening. The kicker is this, I had to do this from my friends computer since I did not have Internet access, I did it as the whole "giving it as a gift" plan. Before un-licensing it on his computer, I tried it out to make it sure it worked and it worked fine on his computer. Could this be a problem of something not copying onto the CD? And does that mean I will have to go back to him and download the whole thing and transfer it again. I know this will be a great game, but this whole process is getting pretty frustrating. Again, thanks in advance for any help, its much appreciated.

It sounds like the game is not installed properly to me, can you tell me what folders are inside of the OOTP directory.

Sure thanks. I have Career 2002.lg, (which is the one that gives me the C++ message, but when replaced by Rolen2002.lg, I load the game minus teams) Create folder, Graphics folder, and Manual folder. Plus various .dat and word documents. I don't want to see whiny in my posts, but as a creator of the game I am sure you know why I am anxious to play it.

Ok, so have you tried to create a new league and not worry about the rolen rosters?

When I can get into the game and go to create new league, it starts to load up and then I get C++ error message. How would I do this without using the Rolen rosters?

Far left top menu bar one of the drop downs says "create new league".

I was gone for the weekend and unable to respond to your post. I don't know if I didn't make myself clear, but whenever I use the drop down menu inside the game to create a new league I get the C++ runtime error again. So, in short, I can get into the games but there are no teams in there and when I try to create a new league I get the C++ runtime error. Any more ideas?

How much RAM and free HD space do you have?

2.05 GB free hard drive space, and now laugh at my computer ineptitude, but I have no idea how much RAM or how I would check that.

Go to "my computer", "control panel" then "system" and when you open that the top tab should say "general". At the bottom it should say the amount of RAM you have.

32.0 MB RAM and my video drivers are the same that were required for OOTP3 and I have DirectX 7.0 (or whatever was required for 3). Might the problem be in Rolen's rosters? Is there a way to unzip them at all?

Bingo, you really need to get some additional RAM. It is reasonably priced right now and if I were you I'd kick it up to atleast 128 meg or more, that will solve your problem.
