No More Strike League Has Openings
We are kicking off a new league. We have 26 teams and we have 12 current managers. I will use Yahoo groups to manage files. Here is the league premise:
We use OOTP 5.13 to simulate 20 years of MLB which after the disaster of the 1981 strike the owners and the players association decided upon the following: 1. No more strikes for 20 years. 2. $80 million team salary cap 3. FA after four years 4. no arbritration 5. Wild card round added It is a career league. I am simming the 1981 season to be able to set up rookies and FA's for the opening 1982 league. Please email me at davidmelkin@cs.com if you have an interest. The current teams that are available (as of 11-3-03) are: Cleveland Detroit Milwaukee Toronto Chicago (A) Kansas City Oakland Seattle Texas New York (N) Pittsburgh Atlanta Los Angeles San Francisco It should be an interesting league. |

I am planning on using yahoo groups but I could do a website using tripod. I am not sure I will do that at this point in time.

Is there a strike before the first year of the league that causes all the players to go into the free agent pool?

1981 season and strike
I am postulating that the strike did take place but that not everybody was declared a free agent. I also decided that no games were lost. I am simming that season so that the 1982 teams will be minus any new FA's and will not have any rookies from that season.
