One tiny problem importing all stars with Cato's History Utility
1st season, I imported the CSV data.
Enter/Edit All Stars Enter/Edit Hall of Fame both give me "Execution error '3170': Couldn't find installable ISAM" When I click the "ok" button, it gives me "Couldn't find installable ISAM" again. It does twice. It then crashes to desktop. Couldn't find any help searching on the board. Any ideas, anyone?

These are DB errors that might be caused by ssystem issues - read more about this here :
Couldn't Find Installable ISAM When you try to export/import data from Excel, dBase, Text or some other file type, you might get this error message. A missing file or corrupt registry entry are the usual causes behind this error. Sometimes, a typical Office Setup does not install these drivers by default. Re-run the Setup program, and manually select the individual drivers under the Data Access options. If any of the driver files were missing, they should be copied and registered by the Setup program. However, in a few cases, this does not get rid of the error message. If the driver files are already present on the hard drive, the registry entries could be corrupt. First try registering the appropriate dll with RegSvr32 (sample steps). If this doesn't work, then try running the setup with some command line arguments: Setup /y /r If you still experience the same error message, try completely uninstalling Access. Then, search for these files on your hard drive, and rename them. Msexcl35.dll (Excel) Mstext35.dll (Text) Msxbse35.dll (dBase) Msxbse35.dll (FoxPro) Now, re-install Access. In your case I would guess that either your DB got corrupted or some files vital to Access or Cato history got corrupted. The most common reasons for this would be system failures or crashes or installs and uninstalls of shared DLL's. I would suggest uninstalling access and then reinstalling as is mentioned above. If you do not have Access or if the Access uninstall/reinstall did not fix the error I'd then try uninstalling Cato History and reinstalling it from scratch - the full version, then the latest patch. Good luck .

Neither worked.
I do wish to thank you for your very appreciated help, though.

![]() Don't give up Long_Name - tons of info on the web about this error - check it out: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&i...=Google+Search By the sounds of the error message it is almost certainly a system related issue, not that you want to hear that. I'm not sure what your system specs are but check out any of the trouble links in that Google search that relate to your system and/or software you have installed on it. I have experienced a ton of DB install errors over the years due to contract work I have done on my home PC. Install SQL Server and suddenly Office 2000 (and with it Access 2000 and Cato History) did not work. Repeat that same process when installing Rational Rose, the Oracle 8 trial, Toad, SQL Navigator - lots of chances for flakiness when you install any DB related software. If you have any tech type questions about how to troubleshoot this or that please ask, I might be able to help. |
