Having picked the eventual loser to win every single postseason series this year, I am absolutely confident that the Yankees will win in 6.

Great game tonight, man I wish that I would have thrown in a tape for that one.
As for the World Series. I pick Yankees in six. Florida will win the two games that Beckett pitches. |

As a Yankee fan, I too have to pick them.....6 sounds about right. However, I am certainly not super confident. Beckett will push to win a couple of games, and I won't be surprised if the D-Train comes up big in this series......he was very successful early in the NL before teams faced him for the 2nd or 3rd time around, so he could be tough against the Yanks. This could be a great World Series, and it is a shame some people get so worked up over the Yankees that it would prevent them from watching.

Well, one part of it is the Yankee hatred part. The other is the letdown. This series had a lot of potential because of the Cubs story. No matter who made it in the AL, if the Cubs were in it in the NL, I would have watched.
I was happy to see the Marlins get the wild card and beat the Giants. However, when they beat the Cubs, my interest level in the series, even with the Yankees moving on, dropped a bit. How could it not??

I say the Yanks in 7. It's going to be a tough series. I've been impressed with the Marlins - they may not have a superstar (maybe IRod) but that may help them as they are not so dependent on any one player as some teams are. I am worried about the Yanks' pitching rotation. Last night's game screwed it up (of course, Joe had to use his starters since the pen has been so shaky). Has the rotation been announced? I figure Wells will probably go on Saturday. After him, who? Mussina or Petite?

Marlins in 2. Beckett blows them away in both games, the Yanks get scared and forfeit.

Don't forget the Marlins messed up their rotation as well in their Game 7 win.

[sarcasm]
The Yankees deserve to win. The city of New York has suffered too much - 9/11, the blackout and now the ferry. The city deserves to win the World Series [/sarcasm] With the Cubs and Red Sox out, my interest in the series has dramatically gone down. I'm marginally rooting for the Marlins but I think the Yankees will win it in 5 or 6. With Rivera, all the Yankees need to do is have the lead going into the 8th. |
