STAR Ratings Problem

Chris Snelling Previously a 4.0 star player - 6 8 6 3 6 7 Now after the World Series, we are in the free agent period, star rating drops to a 3. Why?

Mark Teixeira Previously a 5 star 23 year old. 6 6 5 6 7 4. Star rating drops to a 2.5. Why? The only difference I can see with Teixeira is he did sign a contract extension worth 3.5 million. Other then that there is no difference.

Why are my players star ratings dropping, while their ratings are staying the same?

They were both blue stars.

EDIT: If you click on their player page's now there star ratings will be updated. They will show 2.5 for Teixeira and 2 for Snelling.

Any reason why they would drop so much?

The difference is in the scales. Teixiera went from 5 BLUE stars to 2.5 GOLD stars. The stars are based comparitively to others at their level, when he went from Blue to Gold, the standards were higher. Same with Snelling I assume although his page still says prospect rating

It will also change to yellow stars if he plays a full season in the major leagues. Hence the change appearing as the new season begins.

Just remember that even though Tex has reached his gold stars, he can still improve. Since he's 23, if you're lucky, he'll get to 7 in either hits or walks. With that brilliant rating in HRs I'd say 7 or 8 is a good possibility in HRs. but the fun part is you never know
