AMAZING Organization Idea....Only SERIOUS/DEDICATED/EXPEREIENCED OOTP5 users look
Hey, to all those who might be interested.
I'm looking to start a massive COMBO LEAGUE, but I'm going to need a lot of help if it's going to work...It was an idea I had a while back but never really had much time, and didn't have much support since I didn't know much people. Anyways here's the info: 1. Little League Baseball (Hopefully all four levels) 2. Intercollegiate Baseball 3. International Baseball League 4. Major League Baseball and yes...if you're wondering...all four levels will intertwine at sometime. However, I know for a fact that this is going to take a lot of time and patience...but with the right amount of help it could work. I have a lot more ideas to share...A WHOLE LOT... If you're interested in taking part of this project...please email me at jgmanibusan@yahoo.com or message me on AIM: BigThreeSeven Please only serious inquiries... |

Several people have had this idea, stated their seriousness and their commitment....and it has yet to ever get off the ground. It would simply be far too much work and will never happen.

I would love to see something like this come to fruitition, because in a perfect world this could be the perfect league. But like HR said, no one's been able to make it work. With the ambitions of some of the people around here, it would surely already be going strong if it was do-able. |

Yes, we've seen this before. Some people have pursued it more than others while some recognize it as a folly from the start.
Anyone who has spent enough time in this community realizes that this type of project is doomed to begin with. Great concept? Sure, but it is unrealistic.

Yeah... this was what that one troll was touting for awhile. What was that great quote of his... "My name is Zak Somebody, remember it!"
Something along those lines. |

This can be done....
This can be done...but do you want it?
I have created a fictitious player college database. Players all range between 18-22 yrs old, with ratings suitable for players of that age in comparision to the Pro's. Using a importer/exporter I can move what ever players I wish into any existing league I choose. Unfortunatly I havn't been able to deposit the new players into the Amature draft, only onto existing teams or into the free agent pool, so the recorded history "joe Smith was drafted in the 1st round 1st overall" will not exist. In my college league I simply retire any player over 22 yrs old (and then import them into the Pro's database) and then change all new amateurs to 18yrs old to make them freshmen. Of course we can pick and choose which players enter the pro draft, perhaps players with low loyalty and HIGH need for a winner (these players strike me as weak characters, more likely to drop out of school for the big bucks of the pro's) Another problem I have encountered is the college stats are added onto the career stats once they reach the pros, also elimanating Rookies of the year which I think is a vital award. It is nice to have 4 years of stats to look at (plus 4 years of development) when making your draft desicions. But that is about all a college league is good for. A college league would not be very interactive...trading doesnt happen in college ball (although we can change that) and juggling lineups with players with 1's and 2's as ratings doesnt really appeal to me. Little league ball can be handled exactly the same way, when a player hits 17 he is retired, and imported in the College database. but really, all of these players to be accurate would have to have 0's an 1's as ratings...not much fun for prospective owners. International leagues...same thing, it would just be a parallel league with foreign names that we import/export a few selected players from. You can do this with ANY league as long as the dates are simular. why though? Who in the international league is going to want there best player go to another league? it can be done and not that difficult,...but is it worth it? That is all I have to say about that.... |
