OOTP History v5.3 Update

Version 5.3 is ready. Get it here.

Enhancements and Fixes
  • Fixed error that caused Team Splits to not show on the Schedule Splits page
  • Fixed title on New Players page
  • Fixed error that prevented copying "p-number" photos
  • Added classes to the css file for the award and positional chart tables. You need to delete or rename the site.css file in the website folder. A new one will be created when the HTML pages are created. If you want to keep using your current site.css file, copy the last three classes (awardtbl1, awardtbl2, awardtblstats) from the new file into your old one, delete the new one, and rename the old one back to site.css.
  • Added Pitchers page similar to Position Chart page. It shows the top 5 starters, the top closer, and the top 3 relievers for each year. For technical reasons, player names are NOT highlighted like they are on the Positional Chart pages.
  • Added Minor League Stats checkbox under Player Pages on the Output tab of the Options screen. Check this to output minor league stats on player pages or uncheck to not output the stats. Minor league leaderboards will be created regardless of this setting.
  • Added links to other teams on the Team Splits page
  • Added Minor League Standings pages, one page for each league each year. Linked from the League Standings section of the league Statistics & Leaders page.
  • Added minor league records and finish to the Bio section of Team page.
  • Added links for players in the Traded section on the Team Pages.

As always, let me know if there are any problems.

Enjoy!

I could swear that I had already posted this question but it doesn't seem to be around anywhere.

Does this utility have any practical benefits for solo manager careers or is it geared more towards the online leagues?

Thanks.

I use this for my solo leagues.. it's basically a much much more in depth almanac compared to OOTPs.. I don't even upload the html, I just look at it as a file... Hope that helped...

I love this utility for both my solo and online leagues. For solo leagues I find it keeps track of records better than OOTP, not to mention it has (rough) trade splits and tons more.

In short: yes, there are benefits for solo manager careers.

Thanks for the insight. I'll have to give it a shot since the history of my leagues is the best part of running a league in the first place, IMO.

I use it for my solo Metro Leagues, although I don't upload the pages to my site. It's an excellent reference tool.

Now if only we can get an updated version of OOTP Gazette for OOTP5. I relly miss being able to review the entire pennant race with that wonderful utility.

If you're into your league's history, you really should use this utility. It really enhances the game.

Crap!!!

I'm getting the following error that I have seen others post on previous versions

Error 3021: Either BOF or EOF is true, or the current record has been deleted. Requested operation requires a current record.

This has occured right after it asks me to check out the team abbreviations and underneath the error message it says it is "assigning free agents to teams."

I reinstalled and still get the same error.
Any ideas?

couriers, man, I do recommend it. I've got a league from 1940-1970 with Cato, and I'm going another 10 years before I start 'playing'. The history is insane.

Yeah, check your ltrans.html page. Are the players hyperlinked? If not, that is the problem. The program uses the HTML tags to find the players and other info.

I'm not sure why this happens or how to fix it. Anyone else know? Try creating your HTML reports in OOTP5 again and see if the hyperlinks are there. I do know that you don't have to create the player pages to get the hyperlinks. That's a good thing since it take a while to create all those pages.

Also, I'll look into handling this error better. It should just skip it and continue instead of crashing.

I had a similar problem, where players were not hyperlinked in the lhistory.html file.

This was because the files were originally from an OOTP4 league that I upgraded to OOTP5.

Cato,

Does this version work with the latest changes to CJ's Exporter that he made around a week ago?

Oh BTW good work with the Pitcher's "position" chart

Cheers,
Mark

I got errors using it, complains about the (new) extra fields in the league.csv.

The new fields are for:

---
League file now includes a No Arbitration and June Draft flag.
---

If you use the v5 exporter that's linked to off of Cato's page it will work just fine.

Is there anyway the player history could be moved to the bottom? I just think it'd look better down there, otherwise some player pages end up looking like this:

http://www.cbl.ootp-leagues.com/cblr...eynick134.html

which just looks kind of weird. And that's only after 4 years. Think how long it would be after he had a 15 year career or so.

Thumbs up

Outstanding utility. Just one question. Is there a way to run reports from by previous seasons?

Thanks,
Ken

The ltrans.html is NOT linking properly. I have generated the files several times [with & w/o player pages] and I never get that page to create the links at all. Any ideas? Maybe we have to turn to Markus to fix the output?
