Incredible historical photo site.

If you have any interest in in the historical facepacks I created you will love this site. These are a collection of photos that put my facepacks to shame. A gentleman by the name of Matthew Fulling has taken 500 old black and white photos and colorized them. They are all resized to fit OOTP but you may have to do some name changes for them to display within the game.

Check out his site.

Tiger Fan:

For those not skilled in graphics and mods...specifically, what would be required to change the names?

changing the names is simple but tedious. Simply unzip all the images to any folder, then right click on the image and select rename. Then just type in the new file name and hit enter. For example the player file named Babb, Charlie (Brooklyn NL).gif needs to be renamed as Charlie_Babb.gif

To convert the gif files to bmp you need either a program like paintshop or a batch coverter program like batchthumbs. Batchthumbs can be found here

Thumbs up

This is another GREAT site for photos.

http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com/toc...eballmain.html

From there just select the American or National League Histories and then you can pick the teams. Each team site has a ton of pics for all of that team's "famous" players.

Check it out!

Or if you can program, let a program do the work

I wrote myself a quick little program that converted all the files to the proper name format for me automatically. Then I used Batch Thumbs to convert them to both BMP (for the game) and JPG (for the website).

You can see the pictures at Boys Of Summer (look for the link in my sig). Here is a sample...

Yeah, I got some of the 3000+ photos in my libraries from that site. My libraries were originally for Baseball Mogul but I've been re-editing them for OOTP. I've done about 300 so far.

Hey Jeff.
Have you downloaded any of my OOTP facepacks? If so, just wondering if you have images of any players I am missing from my sets.
I am referring only to the historical sets I created from 1920-79

No, I don't have any of your facepacks. I probably do have ones that you're missing though, and will add more once I'm done re-editing these. The majority of what I currently have covers 1980 to the present because I helped write a 1987 roster patch for Baseball Mogul 2003. Also among my libraries are images of Hall of Famers and everone that was ever selected for an all-star game.

Wow, this guy did an amazing job with those photos. After downloading and viewing every single one of them, it got an idea.

I wanted to see how difficult it really was and if I could do it myself. Here is what I came up with after 2 and a half hours. Not to mention the 3 or 4 it took me just to figure out how to do it.

Ty Cobb and Joe Jackson

The picture was taken in 1913. Here is what the baseball HOF says their uni's looked like that year. Det (away), Cle (home)

Oh, and I also have just about everyone that played for the Astros.

Thanks Jeff. I already had that site. What I am really missing is just guys who played a handful of major league games. Here is an example of some of the players that debuted in 1909 that I am missing. There career games played total is beside their name.

The following players do not have images
Les Backman P 1909-10 SLN 47 career games
Cuke Barrows OF 1909-12 CHA 32 career games
Joe Bernard 1909 SLN 1game
Coonie Blank 1909 SLN 1 game
Ray Brown 1909 CHN 1 game
Jack Bushelman P 1909-1912 Cin/Bos 7 games
Tom Cantwell P 1909-10 Cin 8 games
Chet Carmichael P 1909 Cin 2 games
Dick Carroll P 1909 NYY 2 games
Bill Cooney P-OF 1909-10 Bsn 13 games
Ned Crompton OF 1909-10 SLB,Cin 17 games
Tom Crooke 1B 1909-10 Wsh 11 games
Jim Curry 2B 1909-18 PhA,Det,NYY 10 games
George Daly P 1909 NYG 3 games
Bill Dam OF 1909 BSN 1 game
Eddie Dent P 1909-12 BKN 12 games
Walt DeVoy OF 1909 SLB 19 games
Walt Doane P 1909-10 Cle 7 games
Red Downey OF 1909 Bkn 17 games

Likely the only way I will get pictures of the players I am missing is if someone has a couple of the books by Marc Okkonen that have images of virtually every player to play in a certain decade. I just purchased a copy of his 1930-39 book and when I get a new scanner will add the missing players.
