Its 1995, and major league baseball has been dissolved because of the players strike. Thus, a new league is born, the American Baseball Federation: (The league will be run by myself and Rick Hererra)
American Baseball Federation 1. Premise will be league is started in 1995 season after the strike of 1994 dissolves Major League Baseball. 2. All fictional players will be used, as well as non-union players who were in the league in 1994. A few former major league players will cross the line and join the AFB. 3. Owners will have full control over teams to create logos, stadiums (except for seats, which will be set at 47,500 for all stadiums) and minor league team names (all mandatory), but major league cities will be set, nickname to be made by owners. 4. Cap of $75 mil will be enforced, back story is these owners do not want to make the same mistake previous MLB owners did. TV contracts will be fixed at $28.5 mil total. All fan interests will be set at 65. Cash cap will be $15 mil per team. 5. Initial draft of 75 rounds will be held, with first 20 done live or with lists. Computer will draft final 55 players per team, so as each team will have deep minor leagues. 6. Rookies will be created each year by the comp, and an 8 round amateur draft will be held each year. 7. No DH, we play the way baseball was meant to be played. 8. All records will be reset as will all player stats. Everyone and everything starts at 0 as it is a new league. 9. This is important, there will be mandatory lineup submissions in this league, I want to make sure all owners are active and stay around the league. If you dont think you will be able to send in a lineup at least once a week, please do not ask to join. Check out the page at http://www.tfbl.net/~abf/index1.htm ABF Home Page If you are interested in joining, please email me at peteg9699@si.rr.com with the team you would like. Houston, Las Vegas and NY are already taken. [ 05-16-2002, 08:19 AM: Message edited by: Pete Grassi ] |

This is what he was imported into the game with from Lahman database. I did not change any of the ratings for any player in the game.

In 1995 McGwire hit 39 HR in 317 AB, for an AB/HR ratio of 8.1 or something....
