Established League W/Openings - Offseason Starting Now

The UBL (ubleague.com) has several openings heading into our 2006 (7th) season.

We are looking for intelligent, competant owners to take over immediately. Our offseason is starting this week. This is the best time to make an impact on your new franchise.

We screen our owners to make sure they are what we are looking for. Any league is only as good as it's weakest owner.

If you are interested, please check out the site, and email me at edreco@yahoo.com

Please include a brief bio of yourself, your ootp and sim-league experience, why you would make a good addition to our league, and which team(s) you would be interested in running (if accepted)

Available Teams Include:
Defending World Series Champions, Houston Astros
NLCS Loser, Los Angeles Dodgers
St. Louis Cardinals (some pretty good youth)
Oakland A's (one of the league's top arms)
Atlanta Braves ("America's Team")

Actually, the San Francisco Giants and Colorado Rockies are also available, but the Dodgers are not.

We were holding onto a couple of teams due to owners on military duty, but after more than one season of absence, we are opening up their former teams.

Did not mention in previous post, but the league sims twice weekly, in 10-day cylces (14 after the trading deadline) on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Ownership of the game is not needed; lineups, transactions, and all the goodies are submitted through email to the commish, who then inputs them into the game and posts the sim results on the web.

Oakland and Colorado are now taken. Others still available.

We are currently in the coaches signing period, free agency coming up in the next few days. Apply for your team now.

Do I have to get a physical, deposit $1,000 in an escrow account as earnest money and submit three references also?

I know it sounds bad, but it's really been a big help to screen owners for our league.

We no longer get the kinds of owners that come in, flip a team upside-down, and leave. Nor do we get the type of owner that curses everyone each time their trade offer is denied. Both of those categories of owners ruin teams and leagues if you let them.

We have 3 franchises still available for those interested. San Francisco, Atlanta and St. Louis.

Free Agency starts on Monday. Would be best to fill these teams before the weekend so you can start to familiarize yourself with everything.

Email me (edreco@yahoo.com) if you are interested.

Doesn't sound bad, whatsoever.

You've been insulted twice and not replied in kind. A level head is a very fine attribute for a commish.

Really liked the league and the site. Especially since you banned the Yankees! That being said, I have something against leagues with no league files due to some bad experiences. If you ever get to the point where you do have a league file, let me know as I would then love to sign up.

Actually, I am not the commish of the league, just his humble servant. I do whatever I can to help him run the league, and recruiting new owners is a part of that.

Throughout the course of the league, the topic of distributing the league file has been discussed, but in the end it is the commish's decision not to run his league that way.

If it is thought that the commish has an unfair advantage by being the only one with the league file, please note that our commish has a winning percentage of .451 for the past 4 seasons.

I know there are leagues out there that people run just so they can win them, I can assure you that this is not one of them.

That being said. . .

SF, COL, and HOU remain available, after we had a few people join then quit, not realizing the league file was not available to them.

Didn't mean to imply that. I just don't enjoy having to write an email everytime I want to make a roster move, just makes it tougher to stay organized.
